Upgrading iPhone 3G to the iPhone 4 software can lead to problems

The iPhone 4 complaints were no less for Apple that it now has to face further complaints. It has been seen that Apple’s official forums have lit up up with complaints over the way iPhone 3GS devices handle the iOS 4 firmware. Apple just announced that it is investigating reports from users who say that after upgrading their iPhone 3G to the new software that comes built-in to the iPhone 4, their device slows down to a crawl and makes it  quite difficult to do anything with it.

Other complaints claim that the new operating system is affecting out battery life to a huge extent and also causes the phone to heat up much more excessively than when it used the old software. One of the post reads, “This phone has gone from being a dream to constantly annoying me. Not a way to make friends. I would upgrade to an iPhone4, but I’m feeling pretty angry that Apple has forced my hand by making my 3G unusable,” as quoted by the Wall Street Journal.

Those with an iPhone 3GS, the updated version of the 3G, don’t seem to be reporting any such widespread problems. Apple does not provide an official way to go back to the iPhone 3G software after upgrading. So far, the company’s official statement has simply been that it is  investigating reports from users and is looking into the matter.
